In September 2010 new GCSE Maths specifications will bring radical changes to the way the subject is taught. The most significant developments are the introduction of Functional Maths, and a greater emphasis on problem solving and applying mathematics. At AQA we're here to make sure you're 2010 ready.
Working with Leeds University, we've run an extensive Maths pilot scheme, as part of the Curriculum Pathways Project. Over the past two years our Government backed pilots have run in 400 schools, providing us with an insight that will ensure you and your students get the most out of the new specification.
We've taken advantage of this transformation to develop specifications that are engaging, and relevant to the demands of the modern world. Designed to appeal to all levels of ability, they include a new focus on process skills and problem solving that matches the new QCA subject criteria. Find out more about the big changes in Maths.
We understand your role keeps you busy, so we're here to make the changeover as easy as possible. Experience gained from our Maths pilots means we can help you prepare, while minimising the impact on your workload. Our comprehensive support package and events will guide you through all the changes. You can also keep informed by registering for our
